We need a word that replaces he/she.
Any suggestions? It has to be short and easy on the tongue, because it will be used all the time. I never studied linguistics, though I'd like to, but from what I understand, the point of grammatical rules is to make language sound more elegant. Even though English doesn't sound nearly as elegant as some languages, like Spanish, yet more elegant than Chinese, IMHO.
Hit me. Hit me!

Something I saw recently in a board game manual was "s/he". I have no idea how to pronounce it, but it gets the point across and is a smaller number of characters than "he/she" and "he or she".
It would be nice if as a species we could collectively get over ourselves and just pick one to go by. I wouldn't mind deprecating "he" in favor of an improved English 2.0.
"S/he" definately helps the writing half of the problem.
One grammar book I was reading the other day gave another way to be gender neutral: rotate male and female pronouns in each sentence. :(
How confusing...
Sounds more PC than gender neutral!
That's what I was going to say :p
